Have you been on twitter (or any text based social media really) and had to think if that troll was a person or a bot?

I'm reading You are not a Gadget: A Manifesto by Jaron Lanier. This quote has me thinking this morning:

You can't tell if a machine has gotten smarter or if you've just lowered your standards of intelligence to such a degree that the machine seems smart.

In the last decade we have lowered the standards of intelligence to the point where a Turing test in its original form is meaningless.
