Sunny days ahead

I don't know about you, but this has been a hard year already. With all the turmoil south of us, and the rollercoaster that is Canadian politics since November, its been ... a lot.

I noticed yesterday that the CPC is starting to gain in the polls again. I don't know why, he hasn't changed any of his slogans for 2 years, and Carney has been exactly what he has presented himself as being. The voter isn't changing their opinion based on policy or fact, only feelings.

My only guess is that Carney, with his well answered questions to all the media that shows up, makes the "average" voter feel dumb, and that makes them feel bad. I will be very happy when this election cycle is over, and I can only hope that the LPC gets at least a plurality. I think that would be the best outcome, but the next best outcome, which I think will be more sustainable for Canada's democracy looking out into the future, is a very strong LPC majority and a complete implosion of the CPC and NDP. The NDP isn't voteable at the moment. I like the local candidate when they were our MLA, and I would have kept voting for them. When they decided to run federally, I questioned it, and when I saw all the "dear leader" nonsense on their flyers, etc; I voted LPC. I want a strong LOCAL candidate with their own opinions and I want to be able to trust that they have MY interests, and our ridings interests above the party.

That is enough for the first little post of 2025.
