I mentioned the other day on mastodon that I was starting to have issues with windows, again. There was just a couple of things that I am using an old desktop for automation, mostly publishing this site and a few backups with robocopy. I love robocopy.
However, because MS wants to force updates and its never as "stable" as I would like for a closet server, I decided to start moving functions to a Debian VM and cron jobs. It took a little re-learning cron and lftp but, if you are reading this it worked.
Next step, but maybe not for a while, will be to re-write all my robocopy .bat scripts to rsync .sh scripts. That's going to be a whole other learning curve since I haven't touched rsync in at least 10y.
