Checking out the Shaw Wilderness Park

During a recent trip down Purcells Cove Road I noticed a parking lot that I didn't notice before across from the RNSYS. I didn't have time to check it out then, but then it was a couple days after the start of "spring" and I wanted to get out of the house, so I headed back.

Its here:

The trail from the parking lot to William's Lake is very well made.

very nice trail

As you can see at the picture at the top it was VERY wet, and because it was so wet, I kept getting off trail to avoid the water, you can see that in the garmin track below.

I really want to head back later this spring when it dries a little but before the bugs start to become a problem. I don't think that this trail will have much of a breeze and at the same time, well it is VERY wet, so great mosquito breeding ground.

I want to make it down to Colpitt Lake and maybe go through to to Spryfield and take the bus home, make a really long day of it.
